10 Year Guarantee
As a manufacturer of quality office furniture, it is our aim to provide
our customers with a comprehensive range of office furniture to meet
their expressed needs and requirements. Investment in the latest
technology coupled with a dedicated and skilled workforce has given us
the opportunity to be able to design and manufacture high quality,
functional office furniture, since the company was established in 1974.
Forming strong long standing relationships with key supply partners has
ensured that the full supply chain supports the level of quality,
consistency and reliability that our customers expect from us.
Every product we manufacture undergoes rigorous quality checks
throughout the production process. We are so confident that our
furniture is manufactured to the highest possible standard that every
stocked range we produce is covered by a 10-year guarantee.
In order to ensure we achieve the above commitments, we have implemented
a Quality Management System that satisfies the requirements of BS EN
ISO 9001:2008. Through this system we set objectives and targets to be
achieved and these are reviewed regularly in order continually improve
the effectiveness of the company's products, processes, systems and
compliance with both customers and regulatory requirements.
We have a dedicated team of trained quality inspectors who work
separately to the production department. They are responsible for
checking and authorising products at each stage of the production
process to ensure complete satisfaction before products can move from
one process to the next. Although we have quality inspectors it is the
business culture that everyone is responsible for quality.
All quality aims and objectives are communicated to all members of
staff, it is a mandatory requirement that they comply with these
policies, systems and proceedures defined in the Quality Manual System.

Lee & Plumpton care about the environment and recognise that we have
a responsibility to consider all aspects of our manufacturing processes
and the impact these have upon it.
We are committed to continually improving the ways in which we can
minimise these effects including the reduction of pollution and waste in
all areas of our manufacturing processes. Some of the ways in which we
manage this are:
We measure and assess our efforts through our ISO14001 Environmental
Management System by setting clear objectives for improvement and a
management program to achieve them, with regular reviews for continual
improvement.
Full membership to the Furniture Industry Sustainability Program (FISP)
allows us to focus on reducing social and environmental impacts whilst
maintaining or improving our economic performance.
Our chain of custody certification with the Forest Stewardship Council
(FSC) represents the unbroken path which products take from the forest
to the consumer, including all stages of manufacturing, transportation
and distribution. It provides evidence that certified products originate
from well-managed forests.
All of this combined with our efforts to further reduce carbon emissions
via our own transportation and numerous recycling initiatives are part
of our ongoing commitment of working towards a more sustainable and
greener future.
The waste that is produced, not only from our manufacturing process, but
also our packaging and administration areas of the business is
segregated and collected at the point that it is produced. It is then
taken to a central point ready for collection by a Waste management
Company who then manage the appropiate recycling of all products. These
include:
Board Off Cuts
We send around 110 tonnes of off cuts away to be recycled every year.
Sawdust
Just over 308 tonnes of sawdust is recycled from the factory each year.
This comes from the cutting and drilling we do during the manufacturing
process.
Cardboard and Paper
From the packaging of our standard and Bespoke range of products and
also the paper used within the administration process, we recycle 12
tonnes of cardboard and paper waste every year.
Metal
All the metal waste coming from the manufacturing process is recycled. 7
tonnes every year.
IT Equipment
Even when our IT Equipment is replaced and updated, nothing is thrown
away. This is collated and either sent for recycling or, if in working
order, is given to a charity.
